If this is socialism/fascism/Marxism

  1. That was fantastic. You need someone who is a great speaker to do that every now and then. It doesn't have to be the President (though it doesn't hurt), but it has to be done every now and then for inspiration. I loved it.

    I obviously think the people who opposed kids' seeing this speech are being ridiculous, but what I find more upsetting is that the school boards actually listened to them. If you were a high school principal, wouldn't you want to take any opportunity to have someone try to reach your students? Could you not stand up to people and say, "Guess what: it's the President of the United States. Love him or hate him, he might reach some students, and I am going to take that opportunity." Are we now going to pretend that he doesn't exist? Are they not going to discuss him in class? It's ridiculous that people complained, but it is even more ridiculous that anyone responded this way to those complaints.
