For all the tax nerds in the room...

I give you the UK's tax problem. Why raising rates and creating new complicated deductions is a bad idea.

    I completely agree that taxes should be fiscally neutral, thus my support for an income tax combined with a consumption tax. I also agree that the whole U.S. tax system is as complicated as the U.K. one. It is a result of our trying to create policy incentives (or disincentives) through the tax code, which can be a good thing, but it also throws the ideal of a fiscally neutral tax system completely out the window.
